Principles To Live By

I am republishing my first two nonfiction books. The Love of Devotion is now available again. I am still editing The Love of Being Loving which was my first book. It took 8 years to get that book into my hands. I wrote it over 3 years, then (after problems) it sat in the drawer for another 3 years, then (at the right time) I took it up again, learned how to publish and, finally, it became a published book. Here is Chapter 3 of The Love of Being Loving with all the original quotes that helped and guided me at that time. They were my staple diet until such time as they were absorbed into my consciousness and I no longer needed to intentionally think about them.

THE LOVE OF BEING LOVNG

Chapter 3: The Eleven Principles of Metapsychiatry

  1. Thou shalt have no other interests before the good of God, which is spiritual blessedness.

The vast majority of people live their life with innumerable interests before spiritual good and that accounts for the unhappiness that the vast majority of people feel at their most honest soul level. Good relationships, material abundance, fulfilling work, enjoyable and enthralling interests, and glowing health are not excluded by having our undivided attention on the spiritual path. They are an accompaniment to it. For the sincere seeker, qualities such as peace, assurance, gratitude, love, and spiritual good are always of primary and supreme importance. Metaphysics and Enlightenment

The Love of Devotion comes from decades of spiritual work. It began the day I first opened the metaphysical door and stepped into a world which, although only minimally understood at the time, was strongly desired. Metaphysics is concerned with the ultimate, primary, inner aspects of existence. It does not see life in material terms but sees life in terms of thought and it has a strong emphasis on healing. Everyone’s greatest need is for the healing and wholeness which spiritual awareness brings. However, we are often reluctant to commit to it. As Thomas Hora said, “It’s easy to be enlightened. It’s just not easy to be interested in it.” We, eventually, must come to the realisation that the purpose of our life is to align with our spiritual nature. Try as we do to find other options, there are no viable alternatives which will withstand the inevitable consequences of misplaced loyalties and loves. It is the way for us to find our soul-home. The Intelligent Questions

The Two Intelligent Questions of Metapsychiatry are:

  1. What is the meaning of what seems to be?
  2. What is what really is?

The message of Dr. Hora was first and foremost that problems have meanings. What are our problems telling us? Physical symptoms and other problems have corresponding thoughts. If we are able to understand these corresponding thoughts, we will have uncovered the meaning of our problems. All problems – physical, mental, emotional, experiential – are reduced to the thoughts which essentially make up the problem. Far from being a handicap, our problems are our guideposts. They point out the many ways in which our thoughts are founded on unhelpful, incorrect, and harmful concepts. Once the meaning of our problems is understood, we can spiritually correct our thinking. This change in thought will inevitably bring some sort of healing. Healing will manifest in a more beautiful, calm, healthy, loving, and beneficial life. Continue reading “The Intelligent Questions”

Spiritual Love

Companionship, love, and support are everywhere and ever-present. They are the natural outflow of divinity. The greater our sense of primary divine connection, the more easily will these beautiful resources of Life be attracted into our existence. How could it be otherwise since we are reflecting not our own but Life’s wonderful, appealing, and valuable qualities? Continue reading “Spiritual Love”

The Grey Mist

At certain times in our life, we will be faced with situations which we seem to get stuck in. If we are conscious enough, we will certainly work on the issues involved but we may still seem to be getting nowhere. All the while, the grey mist has its eyes on us, watching to see how long it can stay, and if it can find its way deeper into our veins. We lose our joie du vie. We struggle to settle into our normal activities. We have to force ourselves to enter our daily life. Depending on our body type, we can either lose or gain weight. Our current favourite illnesses, injuries, and body weaknesses will have a tendency to start playing up as if the grey mist knows exactly where to go for the greatest effect. We will lose our creative impetus and our entire being seems to have a stubborn emptiness. Continue reading “The Grey Mist”

Opening the Door to our Inner World

Life has cycles. We move into things and we move out of things. Some of the more challenging movements are when relationships end or when we lose someone that we love through death or another way or when something ends that is very important to us like a career. Other events which are much more positive can also be challenging, such as, the formation of a relationship, getting married, buying a house or having a baby. All these types of events in life touch our inner world. They open a door inside us. Continue reading “Opening the Door to our Inner World”
