The Storytellers: Galactic Neighbourhood

I have been making progress on The Storytellers (Book 2 of the Enanika Series). Here are Chapters 10-13, which explore not being alone as we think in our endless skies.

Chapter 10: Our Local Stellar Neighbourhood

The bookshop heater clicked every few minutes and the old wall clock near the philosophy shelves announced the passing of time. When the Reading Rooms breathed quietly, so did Anu. And so did Michael. 

Anu was shelving a box of donated books and a folded paper slipped from between the pages of an astronomy atlas. It fluttered to the floor like a winged prayer. She picked it up. It was a map of stars. 

Sol (Earth’s sun) lay at the centre, surrounded by star systems within 13 light-years. It wasn’t all the star systems within that range. Only some of them, making it… selective. All the more interesting.

Anu carried the map to the front counter. Michael looked up from balancing the previous month’s accounts.

“What have you found?”

She put the map down and said, “Our local stellar neighbourhood.”

The Missing Years

Here are the next few chapters of Book 2 of the Enanika Series.

Enlan was angry and hurt that Anu stayed away for six years. We find out why.

Chapter 3: New Anu

In Enanika:

Six years ago, after the three-day Sirius alignment, Anu had been invited by Nadhir to begin storyteller training.

Earth was still vivid inside her. Milkwood, the winter solstice dark, the sound of Fat Cow Creek below the falls, and Enlan’s torchlight falling across the path ahead of her as he said, “Goodbye, my love.” 

She felt the pull of it clearly. She felt, just as clearly, what Nadhir was offering. She held them both, and then she turned towards Enanika, and the training began.

Back in Town

I hope you enjoyed Enanika (Book 1 of the Enanika Series). I have now begun writing Book 2.

A lot has happened in the space between Books 1 and 2. For one thing… six years. Here are the opening chapters.

Chapter 1: Dynamic Dancing

Six years later:

Winter moved sharply through the city streets, pushing cold wind between buildings and along tram tracks. People walked quickly, shoulders raised against it, scarves pulled close, hands wrapped around takeaway coffees. 

Anu walked much more slowly, her attention moving from one thing to another, trying to orient herself to a world she had not seen for six years, and even then had not been at ease with.

Enanika is Here!

Enanika: Visionary Fiction is now available.

It’s a personal and expansive story, and I’m so happy to share with you the first book in the Enanika Series — a new series, a new world.

On the peaceful, light-filled planet of Enanika, where life is guided by harmony, energy, and telepathy, Anu prepares for her first solo mission as a contact caller. Her destination is Earth — dense, troubled, beautiful, and poised for change.

Enanika: Close Call

When Anu woke, she stood and moved with ease. Her body, she realised, was unnoticeable — as young bodies generally are.

After several weeks of being sixty-six-year-old Anna, she had returned to thirty-three-year-old Anu during the night.

Which was just as well, because she and Enlan had decided to go back to Fat Cow Falls that day. Enlan had been feeling very Earthbound and hoped he could connect with Enanika again in the pool. The cliff would be far easier for Anu to navigate than Anna.

“Have you lost something?” Enlan asked when they met at the entrance to the falls.

Anu frowned slightly and tilted her head.

“No. I don’t think so.”

He smiled, waiting. “A few years, maybe.”

She laughed. “Oh. Yes. That. It happened overnight.”

Enanika: Anu Answering to Anna

Enanika is the visionary fiction I’m currently writing. Enanika follows Anu, a female from an advanced planet that resembles Earth. She comes here on a mission and must live within the density of our dimensions while maintaining her Nanik consciousness.

Alongside her is Enlan, also from Enanika. Unlike Anu, he adapts quickly to life on Earth. He works, relates, and lives as people do here. They were not meant to be on Earth at the same time — yet life had other plans.

Enanika: When Time Does the Travelling

The book I’m currently writing is Enanika: Visionary Fiction. As the summer crowds leave Milkwood, Anu feels the gap between herself and Enlan growing. Enlan sinks further into Earth life, and his connection to Enanika is slipping. Anu continues her astral journeys to the Hermitage of Ling-Shi-La, a place beyond time. But on this visit, she encounters an unexpected problem — one that will add to the tension already unfolding between her and Enlan.

In Chapters 8 and 9 of Enanika, Anu is drawn far beyond the quiet streets of Milkwood into one of the most ancient spiritual landscapes on Earth — Tibet, the roof of the world. At the Hermitage of Ling-Shi-La and later at the Sanctuary of Zamsar, she encounters a living spiritual lineage that once shaped, and still shapes, the energetic evolution of Earth. These chapters move between worlds — Milkwood and the Himalayas, present and past — revealing doorways into the sacred. While the Hermitage offers transmission, the Sanctuary offers a love story.

We’ve spent the beginning five chapters of Enanika travelling with Anu through the fascinating, vibrant world of Enanika—watching her prepare for her first solo mission, learning about Contact Callers, and witnessing the mystic power of the Seed-of-Life sculpture, the living geometry capable of carrying a being from one realm to another.

Now, in Chapters 6 and 7, Anu steps into Milkwood—a thriving rural town of mineral springs and rainbow crossings, a haven for artists, healers, LGBTQ+ folk, and colourful nonconformists. Here, she begins her Earth-life in earnest, navigating some very human challenges and meeting someone she never expected to find on this planet.
