Many people know what they want: greater peace, freedom, abundance, meaningful work, and nourishing relationships. Yet another voice often runs quietly underneath those intentions. It sounds like caution or realism: This is just the way things are. Now isn’t the right time. I’ve tried before. It probably won’t work. I should prepare for the worst. Because the voice sounds sensible, we can mistake it for truth.
A more helpful response is not to fight with it, but to recognise that it is only one way of thinking. Things may be less fixed than they seem. Clarity often comes through movement. Fear does not always mean stop. Other people’s beliefs do not determine what is possible for us. We are free to change our minds, choose differently, and pay attention to the thoughts that move us towards the life we actually want.
