The Storytellers: Galactic Neighbourhood

I have been making progress on The Storytellers (Book 2 of the Enanika Series). Here is part of Chapter 10.

Chapter 10: Our Local Stellar Neighbourhood

The bookshop heater clicked every few minutes and the old wall clock near the philosophy shelves announced the passing of time. When the Reading Rooms breathed quietly, so did Anu. And so did Michael.

Anu was shelving a box of donated books and a folded paper slipped from between the pages of an astronomy atlas. It fluttered to the floor like a winged prayer. She picked it up. It was a map of stars.

Sol (Earth’s sun) lay at the centre, surrounded by star systems within 13 light-years. It wasn’t all the star systems within that range. Only some of them, making it… selective. All the more interesting.

Anu carried the map to the front counter. Michael looked up from balancing the previous month’s accounts.

“What have you found?”

She put the map down and said, “Our local stellar neighbourhood.”

Michael adjusted his glasses and studied the names:

Proxima Centauri. Alpha Centauri. Barnard’s Star. Wolf 359. Luyten 726-8. Sirius. Ross 154. Ross 248. Epsilon Eridani. 61 Cygni. Epsilon Indi. Procyon A. Tau Ceti. Kruger 60.

“I thought there were more stars than this within 13 light-years of us,” he said.

“There are.”

“Then why these?”

“These are the ones that have particular relevance to Earth,” explained Anu…

The Storytellers (Book 2 of Enanika Series) is COMING SOON!

The Missing Years

Enlan was angry and hurt that Anu stayed away for six years. We find out why.

Chapter 3: New Anu

In Enanika:

Six years ago, after the three-day Sirius alignment, Anu had been invited by Nadhir to begin storyteller training.

Earth was still vivid inside her. Milkwood, the winter solstice dark, the sound of Fat Cow Creek below the falls, and Enlan’s torchlight falling across the path ahead of her as he said, “Goodbye, my love.”

She felt the pull of it clearly. She felt, just as clearly, what Nadhir was offering. She held them both, and then she turned towards Enanika, and the training began.

Contact callers open the bridge between worlds. They are the first point of call. They help worlds attune to frequencies not yet known to them. It is essential work, foundational work, the kind of work that has to happen before anything else can.

Storytellers come after. Their work is different. Whereas contact callers connect worlds, storytellers venture into their interior, into the dreams they dream about themselves, into the patterns they return to again and again without knowing why. Storytellers learn to feel worlds from the inside. They know that stories are not simply entertainment, nor history, nor even mythology, though they wear those forms.

Book 2 of the Enanika Series is COMING SOON!

Enanika is Here!

Enanika: Visionary Fiction is now available.

It’s a personal and expansive story, and I’m so happy to share with you the first book in the Enanika Series — a new series, a new world.

On the peaceful, light-filled planet of Enanika, where life is guided by harmony, energy, and telepathy, Anu prepares for her first solo mission as a contact caller. Her destination is Earth — dense, troubled, beautiful, and poised for change.

In the rural town of Milkwood, she meets Enlan, another being from her world. But their paths unfold very differently. Anu remains aware of who she is and why she’s here, while Enlan becomes immersed in the human experience, gradually losing his connection to where he came from.

Enanika is not just a story about people, but about worlds… about who we are, and who we believe ourselves to be.

Available as an ebook, paperback, and audiobook (audiobook is currently available in the U.S. only).

Enanika: Close Call

When Anu woke, she stood and moved with ease. Her body, she realised, was unnoticeable — as young bodies generally are.

After several weeks of being sixty-six-year-old Anna, she had returned to thirty-three-year-old Anu during the night.

Which was just as well, because she and Enlan had decided to go back to Fat Cow Falls that day. Enlan had been feeling very Earthbound and hoped he could connect with Enanika again in the pool. The cliff would be far easier for Anu to navigate than Anna.

“Have you lost something?” Enlan asked when they met at the entrance to the falls.

Anu frowned slightly and tilted her head.

“No. I don’t think so.”

He smiled, waiting. “A few years, maybe.”

She laughed. “Oh. Yes. That. It happened overnight.”

Enanika: When Time Does the Travelling

The book I’m currently writing is Enanika: Visionary Fiction. As the summer crowds leave Milkwood, Anu feels the gap between herself and Enlan growing. Enlan sinks further into Earth life, and his connection to Enanika is slipping. Anu continues her astral journeys to the Hermitage of Ling-Shi-La, a place beyond time. But on this visit, she encounters an unexpected problem — one that will add to the tension already unfolding between her and Enlan.

Enanika: Visionary Fiction—The Earth Crossing

A rainbow crossing, a chai, and a familiar face — Anu’s first real steps on Earth begin.

We’ve spent the beginning five chapters of Enanika travelling with Anu through the fascinating, vibrant world of Enanika—watching her prepare for her first solo mission, learning about Contact Callers, and witnessing the mystic power of the Seed-of-Life sculpture, the living geometry capable of carrying a being from one realm to another.

Now, in Chapters 6 and 7, Anu steps into Milkwood—a thriving rural town of mineral springs and rainbow crossings, a haven for artists, healers, LGBTQ+ folk, and colourful nonconformists. Here, she begins her Earth-life in earnest, navigating some very human challenges and meeting someone she never expected to find on this planet.

Enanika: Visionary Fiction—The Marketplace

🌍✨ A new story begins…

It’s always an exciting moment to begin a new story.
Here is the start of my new fiction series, Enanika.
It carries the same mystical, otherworldly tone as the Waldmeer Series—yet it’s set in a completely different world. 🌿🕊️

In the opening chapter of Enanika, we meet Anu in her natural world — a peaceful, advanced planet where telepathy is normal, harmony is effortless, and daily life moves with an inner hum of presence.

Chapter 1: The Marketplace

Moving with untroubled ease through the open-air market, Anu’s short chestnut bob brushed just above her shoulders. Sunlight caught her blue eyes, clear as the surface of a calm mountain lake.

Anu was thirty-three.

On Enanika, age does not carry the same weight as it does on Earth. Time is not something accumulated so much as something moved within. Even so, there is a specialness about thirty-three in both worlds. On Earth, it marks the settling of adulthood, when certain things — for good or bad — begin to solidify. On Enanika, it is also a threshold: a time when what had been practised, learned, and played with can now be lived, explored, and embodied in new, profound, and challenging ways. It is a gateway.
