On a recent trip to Uluru and Kata Tjuta, I noticed how many small things made me anxious: airport logistics, buses and pick-up times, long walks in unfamiliar terrain, and even a helicopter ride. Yet those same challenges heightened the experience. They reminded me I was in a remote, powerful place. A world very different from my usual one.
Fear and anxiety do not necessarily mean that something is wrong or that we should turn back. Sometimes they tell us, “This matters. Pay attention.” A challenge is not automatically a negative thing. The uncertainty, vulnerability, and effort are all woven into the gift itself.
